Claude + AI Power Tools
A Claude Desktop extension and skills that let Claude work on Enterprise Architect running on your computer, and on Prolaborate in the browser. You direct the work in plain language and review the result in the model.
What it is
Claude is Anthropic’s AI assistant. AI Power Tools for Sparx EA (opens in a new tab) gives it a connection to the live Enterprise Architect model and a library of skills: written procedures for each kind of architecture job, so Claude works through a task the way an experienced architect would. AI Power Tools is a community-developed product, available to all Sparx users free of charge.
You work in the Claude desktop app with Enterprise Architect open beside it. You say what you need, Claude does the work in the model, and you review what changed. With computer use, Claude can also open EA itself and look at the diagrams it has drawn.
Who it is for
Architects who look after a Sparx EA repository and want the widest range of skilled work on the live model, in organizations that permit Claude.
What it helps you do
- Modeling
Hand over the spreadsheet, inventory or document and get the elements, relationships and diagrams built in your modeling language, in steps you can check. Set up or derive your MDG Technology without hand-editing XML.
- Analysis
Ask what depends on a system before you change it, what changed since a baseline, and what a regulation or a vendor notice reaches, across the model and the documents and exports you give it.
- Governance
Turn your standard into rules, run them before a review or on a schedule, and get the findings grouped by rule. Take a baseline before a bulk change so it can be rolled back.
- Stakeholder Engagement
Build the reporting database and Power BI dashboards from the model in your stakeholders’ vocabulary, or build and read Prolaborate dashboards through the browser. In our experience that takes a few hours where it used to take weeks.
When Claude + AI Power Tools is the right choice
Choose it when your organization permits Claude and you want one assistant for all four kinds of architecture work on the live model. It has the widest range of guided work of the six options, and it is the one that can open EA and check its own diagrams.
Each architect runs it on their own Windows computer with EA, under their own login. A team that wants single sign-on and an audit trail of AI use should look at Kernaro AI Hub alongside it. Architects who work in VS Code get the same connection and skills with GitHub Copilot + AI Power Tools.
